"The northwind can't be eternal. The most obstinate hurricane subsides one day. Along with it, the waters, which soared like the tsunami and sprayed the most distant coastal travelers' faces, finally calm down. But, although the waves subsided, and the whirlwind dissolved in white silence, the eyes will remember for a long time the insane ice drops, and the soul will be recovering from the chills until the next dawn.
"Never Leave Me Alone", the recent release by Olhava from Ladoga, is neither second chapter nor the consequences of the hurricane, but its flip side. Familiar tracks from the debut album appear in a new quality, bringing frost on the cover and looking at us through a fresh, transparent prism. The drone ambient from the Trna musicians, referring to similar projects by both participants - The Last Before Falling by Andrey Novozhilov and Timur Yusupov's Cliff Ruin - sounds through the same cold as the usual blackgaze, it just doesn’t hit the blizzard in the face, but quietly penetrates, crystallizing frost patterns on the walls of blood vessels. You can listen to this recording breathing the air of a winter night, or you can save it until a suffocating summer, so that you can be saved when nothing else saves. This is not the fierce cold that condemns DSBM adherents to death. These are those crunchy ice floes which, in their flickering innumerableness, envelop the body with a layer of peace."
